Re-invitations, and oh yeah, a contest

Thursday, August 31st, 2006

Since Tabblo invitations can sometimes get caught in spam filters (or lost in the bustle of summer), we felt it important to make it easier to invite friends and family that may have otherwise missed the first opportunity to see your masterpieces. So we’ve added a quick way to re-invite users to Tabblo from your network page.

And by the way, we forgot to mention it here in the blog, but we’re running a contest this month: with just 25 invited guests, you get entered into tomorrow’s Nikon D50 contest.

Good luck and thanks again for helping Tabblo!

Visit your network page now to see who you can re-invite.

We heart flickr

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006

We’ve said it before so we’re going to keep it short here: we at Tabblo LOVE Flickr, and Flickr users in particular. You’ve been some of our most creative, prolific tabbloers and have raised the overall quality bar on the site in a way that we can only stand in awe of.

So it is with great pleasure that we’re announcing the immediate availability of two super-Flickr-friendly features. First, you can now take any of your Flickr photosets and make a tabblo out of them with one-click goodness. No more having to resort through your Tabblo organizer and repeat work that you’ve already done:

(A big big thanks to the Flickr folks for making this possible. You are the model citizen of the web-as-platform meme and we are not only standing on the shoulders of giants here but looking to live up to your example as well)

Second, you can also now use our template engine to output a full PNG of your tabblo that can be automatically added back to your Flickr stream. Why? Two reasons: first, you asked for it. And second, for most of you Flickr users, the primary place to comment/chat/discuss is still Flickr and we are not only totally down with that but also happy to jump over to Flickr to come and participate (for an example of what this looks like, see it here. To get at it, just head over to the “Share options” link on your tabblo).

So enjoy, and as always, please drop us a line or stop by the forums if you have anything you want to chat about. Or do it at the tabblo group on Flickr– we’ll be there too.

The poster as a series

Friday, August 11th, 2006

Just a quick note to let people know that we’ve added the ability to print your tabblos as a series of posters with different chunks of the tabblo on different posters. Why? Because folks asked for multiple pages with which to tell their stories, and since paper just doesn’t stretch as well as a webpage, we decided to oblige.

One of the neatest things about this is that the multi-page editor is built out of the same ingredients as the tabblo editor so learning to work online is all you’ll need to be laying out an entire wall-full of posters.

Keep an eye out for more products coming very soon now that we’ve got pagination properly baked into the site. And, as always, feel free to send any and all feedback by email to “feedback at tabblo dot com” or by posting to the forums.
